Volunteer Spotlight - Meet Coach Nanette

At Girls on the Run Capital Region, our coaches are the heart of our program, inspiring and empowering participants to reach their potential both in and out of practice. In our Coach Spotlight, we celebrate their dedication, stories, and the incredible impact they have on our community while getting to know them a bit better!

We recently talked with Coach Nanette to find out more about her journey with Girls on the Run. Here's what we found out!

GOTR: How long have you been a coach with Girls on the Run?

Coach Nanette: 9 seasons!!!

GOTR: What is your favorite thing about coaching a team of girls in this program?

Coach Nanette: I love watching the girls grow as a team over the course of a season. They really do learn to use their own Star Power to lift up their teammates with kindness and compassion.

GOTR: Please share your favorite GOTR memory with us!

Coach Nanette: Some of my favorite memories are of the Southern Saratoga YMCA GOTR teams volunteering at the Clifton Park Library for their community impact project. They take their assignments seriously and make a positive impact on the children’s cormer as well as collect books for donation.

GOTR: What is one thing you'd like us to know about you?

Coach Nanette: I enjoy sharing my passion for running and fitness with others. I am especially grateful for the opportunity to coach the GOTR girls and share a small part of their journeys forward!

Coach Nanette, we are so grateful for you and all that you do for GOTR and the girls you've coaches on your teams. Thank YOU! You are amazing!!!
