Reflecting on the Spring '24 Season

Hello Girls on the Run Capital Region!

We hope your summer is going great and that you're enjoying the less structured time that summer affords for some relaxation and family togetherness. While we are eagerly planning for our upcoming Fall season at Girls on the Run, we are also reflecting on the incredible season we had this Spring! It was a truly great season and we'd love to share some season highlights with you.

  • 370 Strong and Powerful Girls Served

  • 98 Amazing and Inspiring Volunteer Coaches Trained

  • 90% of Participants had a 5k Buddy on Race Day

  • 99 Motivated and Energetic 5k Volunteers Activated on 5k Day

In our end of season survey a caregiver shared the following about how their child had been impacted by Girls on the Run: "It was a positive experience and she enjoyed going every session. It built up not only her endurance but also her self-esteem." Another caregiver shared "She has more confidence and realized she really likes running. She has discovered a new favorite physical activity and has new friends as a result of the program."

A program coach shared that "GOTR provides you with everything you need to lead the lessons, you just need to bring a good attitude and a smile. The girls are so excited to be there and watching them grow emotionally, mentally and physically stronger is awesome." While there always things for us to work on and improve, we are so proud of our spring season coaches and participants and all that they gained in our time together!
