Open to community runners.

The 5K course is an out and back starting at the Boat Launch at Corning Preserve. The path runs north along the river with a turnaround at roughly 1.5 miles.

Packet Pick-Up

Pre-Race Packet Pickup is Friday, Nov. 17, 4-7PM. Details to follow.

Day of Packet Pickup begins at 8AM.

Race Shirts

All runners registered before Nov. 1st get a wicking race tech shirt in their size. Runners registered on or after Nov. 1st can select from M, L, XL , as supplies last. Day-of registrants are not guaranteed a shirt and can choose from existing supplies after the race. Extra race shirts will be available for purchase after the race for $15. Cash and checks preferred; credit cards accepted.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the 5K run take?

Finishing times vary of course, but our fastest runners will complete the run in about 25 minutes. Most runners will fall between 30-45 minutes. We have Superhero Sweepers who will be sweeping the course to ensure all runners cross the finish line safely.

WHAT IS THE COURSE ROUTE?

The 5K course is an out and back starting at the Boat Launch at Corning Preserve. The path runs north along the river with a turnaround at roughly 1.5 miles.

Are there water stations available?

Water will be available along at the turnaround and in the finish area. Girls can bring their water bottles to the event but, just like in practice, are discouraged from running with them. Additional water and snacks will be available in the finish area.

Where should I park?

Free parking is available at the Boat Launch. Please follow the direction of our volunteer parking attendants to ensure ample space for as many cars as possible. Carpooling is encouraged. Overflow free parking will be available in city lots and garages. Handicapped parking: 1. The Columbia Street Garage which is equipped with elevators and is directly connected to the Hudson River Way 2. Corning Preserve Parking lot (near the Riverfront Bar and Grille, 51 Erie Blvd) Free parking is available in any non-restricted metered spots

Can I bring my dog or pet?

For safety, no furry friends are allowed on the course. Pets are welcome off the course on a leash. BYOPB (poop bags)

This event would not be possible without the help of amazing volunteers who believe in our mission and show up to support our girls. Our events have been called "the happiest" and you can help make that happen! Whatever your special skills and talents, we have a role for everyone -- day of and in the planning stages.

Running Buddies Mentor, Run and Have Fun!

Running Buddies provide encouragement and inspiration to our girls in written notes throughout the season and join them in celebrating their accomplishments as they cross the finish line together.

This is our most popular volunteer opportunity for women, men, parents, runners as well as walkers. Learn more on our Volunteer page.
