Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the 5K run take?

Finishing times vary of course, but our fastest runners will complete the run in about 25 minutes. Most runners will fall between 30-45 minutes. We have Superhero Sweepers who will be sweeping the course to ensure all runners cross the finish line safely.

The 5K course is a looping path on the University at Albany campus. Start and Finish are near each other on the drive between Indian and Dutch quad parking. See above for link to course map.

Are there water stations available?

Water will be available at the start and finish. One hydration station (water stop) will be available on the course. Girls can bring their water bottles to the event but, just like in practice, are discouraged from running with them. Additional water and snacks will be available at the finish line.

Where should I park?

Official event parking is in the Dutch Student lot. A loading/unloading zone is available near the Indian Quad parking area. You are welcome to drop off here, and follow the parking signs to the official event parking area. Parking is at your own risk in lots other than Dutch.

Can I bring my dog or pet?

For safety, no furry friends are allowed on the course. Pets are welcome off the course on a leash. BYOPB (poop bags)

The finish line is just the beginning...
Girls, coaches and running buddies set a goal, put one foot in front of the other and crossed the finish line with confidence in their strides, smiles on their faces and joy in their hearts.

Running Buddies Mentor, Run and Have Fun!

Running Buddies provide encouragement and inspiration to our girls in written notes throughout the season and join them in celebrating their accomplishments as they cross the finish line together.

This is our most popular volunteer opportunity for women, men, parents, runners as well as walkers. Learn more on our Volunteer page.

Our Teams

This spring season we had 7 teams - 4 elementary teams and 3 middle school teams. To learn how to start a team at your site, come to our info session June 15th. Details HERE. More information on starting a site is on our Start A Site page.
